THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology. 

THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Dynamic, self-motivated, experienced ARM firmware engineer to develop and debug firmware solutions for AMD’s proprietary co-processor embedded within the AMD System on Chip (SoC) designs.
• Participant in day-to-day firmware development work implement embedded firmware enabling a wide range of power, performance, and security features.
• Strong debug skills across multiple FW components to ensure on-schedule, defect-free system firmware.
• Must have strong system debugging skills. The following are typical tasks that the engineer will be responsible for:
o Design firmware features required by AMD SOC and chipset.
o Develop firmware features for AMD new platforms designed customized per customer requirements.
o Assist SOC validation, platform validation, and debug engineers to develop/debug system and silicon issues.
o Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Strong Knowledge about ARM bootloader, embedded firmware, ATF flow, SCP firmware and other PC industry standard
• Familiar with BL2, BL31 architecture and development.
• C or C++ proficiency OR experience with ARM-based designs
• In-depth embedded firmware/RTOS development mandatory
• Experience in information security design and implementation
• Extensive experience with firmware security implementations
• Experience in BSP development/Boot loader (uBoot)/CoreBoot is a plus
• Knowledge and experience with hardware low-speed busses (I2C, LPC, UART)
• Strong debug methodology and skills
• Possess the technical proficiency and confidence to clearly represent design ideas, complex problem descriptions and innovative solutions with other developers as well as customer teams.
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
