- Familiar with concepts and can maintain and write code in one the following: Java and/or Kotlin. Being familiar with basic concepts of JavaScript/Typescript would be ideal as developers at EG will often run across JavaScript/Typescript code.
- Familiar with version control systems particularly Git (GitHub)
- Knows how to operate and use an IDE which might include VSCode, Intellij, Webstorm, etc (Intellij is used widely across the organisation)
- Engineers are required to build and debug CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, GitHub Actions and other legacy tooling as needed
- Working knowledge of API and networking technologies and toolkits to support GraphQL, REST and GRPC. This includes designing, building, designing and maintaining services and debugging, troubleshooting and rectifying identified issues.
- Engineers are required to test their code using common testing principles and common testing tools and frameworks
- Familiar with and understands basic AWS services including databases, EC2, S3 and other storage technologies, AWS console
- Working experience and knowledge of relation databases including SQL Server, Postgres (as examples). EG works with non-relational database technologies including mongodb and elasticsearch storage engines. Understanding and working experience with these database types would be advantageous. How to model data into these storage technologies would also be required.
- Can use tools such as DataDog, Splunk to monitor, support and troubleshoot assigned applications and services
- Expected to suggest and implement improvements to monitoring and support tooling and processes
